Born November 1, 1921 in Yamagata prefecture. He made his debut as an illustrator in 1945, and in the 1950s and 1960s he published works such as graphic novels in magazines for boys and young men. His outstanding drawing skills captivated many readers. After that, he left the world of graphic novels and worked as a Japanese painter, but in 2005 he published his graphic novels for the first time in a long time in a period drama comic magazine published by Reid. His veteran brushwork and his unique view of impermanence, which was born out of his age, immediately attracted attention. Even at the age of 97, he continues to release new works several times a year at the company "Comic Ran", and his creative motivation is gaining momentum.

He died at the age of 97 on October 11, 2019 of old age.
