A galaxy far, far away and new worlds Today it is difficult to imagine that at first "New Hope" was filmed as if it would be some kind of failed movie. Then even the crew members and actors did not fully understand what project they were in, who all these aliens were, what kind of Jedi and a huge metal planet that flies through space and destroys worlds. But in 1977, the world of fiction turned upside down when the now classic work of George Lucas appeared in cinemas. It was a revolution in fiction. The adventure genre in space, new worlds, the grace of colors and at the same time intergalactic fascists (such were the stormtroopers when I got acquainted with the picture) — all this excited the world in a good sense of the word, giving the beginning of the cult saga. Moreover, to show such an adventure film at such a difficult time, when the Vietnam war is raging, a crisis has come, and people in the country are rallying, it was quite risky for both the director and the studio. But perhaps all these events played into the hands of this work, giving rise to a million army of fans around the world. The film will receive seven Oscars, it was recognized in the film Academy. An incredible phenomenon. Lucas has created something new by mixing a great cocktail from various genres. There are adventures, drama, a fairy tale, and even some ideas taken, it seems, from Asian folklore. Well, Power is, in my opinion, a specific reference to divinity. She is always there, permeating everything and everything around. Some religious teachings say similar things. The main characters were liked by the audience. Brave and courageous, they fight for what they believe in, do not retreat from difficulties, even before the danger of death, are ready to sacrifice themselves for the sake of their comrades. Every viewer wants to reach out to them, to live the story together, to fight back against the terrifying Darth Vader and Willhaf Tarkin, which here appear to be true evil. However, not everything is so simple at first glance. The story perfectly reveals the motivation of the characters, the actors' play and excellent dialogues immerse them in the world of a distant galaxy, and the viewer really begins to believe that the world on the screen is real. Lucas took the skilled and well-known Guinness and Cushing in those years to the roles of experienced leaders and mentors of the opposing sides. But the rest of the actors were little known to anyone. But the bet was on them. And this bet played out, showing the world Hamill, Ford and Fisher. The "gang" of heroes is very diverse, funny and serious, but definitely uncompromising in the face of danger. It makes no sense to list the features of each. It should be said that each character was created by the author with love, a responsible approach, the characters are worked out, you empathize with them. Villains are also colorful. From Tarkin and Vader literally emanates an aura of cruelty and cold calculation of tyrants that must suppress all possible riots in the galaxy. The world of "Star Wars" does not seem to be some kind of cardboard and fake. The creation of scenery, costumes and visual effects was approached with all seriousness and with all available means for that period. Today, of course, the original version does not look very good, but the subsequent re-release supplemented the film with an excellent picture so that even after 45 years it looks great. The work of George Lucas and his entire team allowed a new genre to be born in the world of cinema. Millions of fans around the world warmly watch and review this now classic, enjoy the intricacies of the characters' destinies, the importance of friendship and a sense of responsibility for themselves and loved ones that run through the whole film. 9 out of 10
