

Alfredo Giannetti was an Italian screenwriter and film director celebrated for his contributions to Italian cinema. Born in Rome, he began his career as a journalist before transitioning to screenwriting. Giannetti collaborated extensively with director Pietro Germi, co-writing films such as Divorce Italian Style (1961), for which they won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. He also directed films like The Automobile (1971) and 1870 (1972). Giannetti's work is noted for its incisive social commentary and exploration of Italian society.
