James Bond's Struggle with the Menacing Power of the Media Pierce Brosnan turned out to be a good Bond. His 007 agent is memorable and looks fresh. The Golden Eye has shown a decent result, and now the continuation of the adventures of the Englishman from MI6 is coming to the fore. The new story is ready to match the previous film in terms of watchability, and the plot departs from the usual confrontation with the "red menace". And the new story, due to its freshness, looks like a winning decision to implement the next project of the James Bond franchise. Despite the usual attributes of films about British agent 007, including chases, shootouts, beautiful girls of the main character and a great picture, the picture takes exactly the storyline. Here is the antagonist Elliot Carver, a media mogul, who will clearly demonstrate how the media can manipulate society, put ideas into people's heads that are necessary for the implementer. The film perfectly plays on the increasing power of modern (at that time) ways of transmitting information and the ability to present it the way the villain needs it. It seems that if a film were made today, the Internet, messengers and social networks would play an important role in such an "introduction into the minds", in addition to the notorious TV. This film is an excellent guide to how, in our time, able people are able to subdue people's minds by demonstrating such information that educates viewers with the feelings that those who demonstrate this information need. At the same time, everything is done as if people themselves have reached the acquired knowledge, they are smart and see the surrounding information exactly as it really is. But in fact, this is an absolute misconception. James Bond is trying to destroy the created illusion of "truth", and for this he has to go through a difficult path. In this adventure, gorgeous chases, interesting companions and, of course, villains are waiting for him again. I remember Jonathan Pryce as Carver. However, it was the actor from "Game of Thrones" who was remembered, and not the villain played here by Price. The second one turned out to be quite boring and even unconvincing. This character clearly loses out in colorfulness to dozens of other villains from other Bond films. But Carver's actions as a villain are good. He is ready to create information channels, to voice the news agenda in such a way that he manages to push entire governments against each other. To save the situation, an agent with two zeros will have to try hard. Of course, it will be an interesting adventure, and Bond will be able to show all his skills and abilities. The film will not do without good old friends, among whom Q, Miss Moneypenny, M. Each of them will again prove to be useful characters to create a full-fledged picture. Desmond Llewelyn, Samantha Bond and Judi Dench, who play them, are respectively good in their roles. But James's girls were the heroines played by Michelle Yeoh and Teri Hatcher. And if the first one was good at action scenes and fight scenes, then the second one is not particularly memorable. In my opinion, these actresses are lost in the picture. A good villain played by Getz Otto. His blond giant turned out to be not bad. The picture turned out to be good. The next episode of the long-running movie series was released, and fans were able to appreciate the new story about the British agent 007. How successful is it? It's up to everyone. For me, this is a good large-scale action movie in the style of Bond. Watching "Tomorrow never dies", you get what you expect. 8 out of 10
