The start of the spy franchise It was very interesting to watch the first film of a huge franchise that originated 60 years ago through the eyes of a modern viewer. And I would like to note that "Doctor No" looks quite good today, when the viewer is no longer surprised by the beautiful tricks on the screen and the abundance of computer special effects. Bondi begins very interestingly, and the spy theme takes a powerful start on the big screens. The film catches with its story. It is unusual, memorable and in some moments even absurd. An excellent antagonist, which is hardly possible in the real world, his methods are cruel to the same extent as unrealistic, but the audience is ready to accept the vision of the authors, who, by the way, rely on the book source of Ian Fleming. The undoubted decoration of the work is the Bond hero, who is represented by Sean Connery. This is one of my favorite Bonds. He is truly dangerous, purposeful, always collected and moderately cruel. But at the same time, almost any girl cannot resist his charm. Agent 007 is charismatic, and Connery definitely got into the role. It is not for nothing that today he is called the best Bond. Bond, directed by Terence Young, appears as a man of his time and does not look like many stereotypical heroes who are driven by their work, hate the world and the authorities, as if they take revenge on everything and everyone, being a professional in their field that lives in their own separate world of big spy games. Bond Connery is very peculiar here and even merges with the crowd. This is how a spy should be, even if he is a master in any business. The early 1960s turned out to be very stressful. At that time, the Cold War was probably at its most dangerous stage, countries were searching for spies in their ranks, a space race was emerging, and ordinary people lived in fear of a nuclear war. Perhaps for this reason, the film adaptation of the Bond began not with the first book "Casino Royale", but with the sixth — "Doctor No". The plot suited the time much more. Here the hero will have to face a villain who wants to destroy the world and for this he needs NASA launch shafts for sabotage. The film also mentions for the first time the famous terrorist organization SPECTRUM in the future, with which Bond will have to fight in almost half of future stories. Here, the emphasis is on the villain Doctor No, who looks like a very convincing opponent, ready to go to the end in his aspirations. The project was warmly received by the audience, allowing famous producers Harry Saltzman and Albert R. Broccoli to continue working with Agent 007, whose history has been going on for decades. "Doctor No" is a great start and a worthy start for the whole world, which is still not enough for the viewer. After all, the next few dozen sequels say that people like both the hero and the stories in which he participates. There are a great many of them, successful and not so successful, but it cannot be taken away that it was Connery and his Bond 007 that initiated the success of the whole franchise. It is "Doctor No" that is one of the most memorable films of the series. Well deserved. 8 out of 10
