The last chapter of Natasha Romanoff "Black Widow" was announced some time before the release of the fourth Avengers movie. True fans of the Russian spy were delighted that Scarlett Johansson's character would finally get her own story. Of course, subsequent events made it clear that the film would become a prequel and show the story of the heroine in the interval after the "Civil War" and before the "Infinity War". However, at least my interest in this has not faded. I wanted to find out about the next adventure of the Black Widow and maybe dot the "e" in the story of the character. The film focuses on Natasha's past and simultaneously introduces us to new characters. New only for the audience. In the life of a Widow, they have been and are for a long time. A kind of family that reunites again to solve the puzzle and deal with the notorious Red Room and its creator once and for all. The plot is driving and dynamic, the characters are interesting and lively. However, throughout the whole picture, a persistent unpleasant feeling does not leave that events are being adjusted to the already long-existing and formed universe of superheroes. And from this "fitting", the events that are taking place seem somehow artificial and unnatural. A fly in the ointment adds a shift in emphasis from the main character to her follower Elena Belova, who will become a future Widow and one of the main characters in future Marvel projects. There are no complaints about the actress Florence Pugh, who plays Elena. She plays great, but it often seems that her presence is far-fetched. Funny are the Red Guardian and Melina. David Harbour and Rachel Weisz look organic and even comical in these roles from scene to scene. In a sense, the film goes out on them, leaving a smile on their face after watching episodes with these characters. Scarlett and her Natasha are still good. It's nice to see the heroine on the screen. The main antagonist General Drake, played by the charismatic Ray Winston, appears in the picture as a kind of image of pressure and infringement of the female half of humanity. Angry and arrogant, he is the personification of evil, oppressing in every possible way numerous girls who become black widows and are under the heel of a man. The theme of gender discrimination in society is clearly traced, and the picture is designed to show that women in the face of black widows are strong and independent, ready to fight for the rights of all women. Of course, this is not directly mentioned in the picture, but the bias in this topic is clearly traced. The picture is designed to once again remind women around the world that they are able to achieve everything. This has been clear to everyone for a long time, but often such projects clearly want to play on the eternal theme of gender inequality. The visual range and sound are decent. The amount of action is sufficient. A lot of cranberries, which seemed to be stuck somewhere at the level of thirty years ago. It seems that in the imagination of the creators of the picture, Russians still live in the dashing 90s, they always drink vodka when they are going to have lunch/ dinner / breakfast, and of course a bear with a balalaika is about to appear around the corner. It seems to be funny, but it doesn't seem to be very. Nevertheless, the picture looks good. The film will give some answers to those events that were once mentioned in the film universe and concerned Natasha Romanoff. Was the conclusion of the Black Widow story worthy? Everyone decides for himself. For myself, I concluded that although the project is close in my understanding to the category of "passing", as a fan of Scarlett Johansson and her heroine, I will be happy to watch the film again. 7 out of 10
