Jarek Ostravski is a miner like any other. But when one of the tunnels in the mine collapses and he rescues many of his friends from the rubble, he becomes a hero and his life is suddenly turned upside down. He is promoted from the mine to the office by the company management to look after the miners, he comes under the scrutiny of the media, his family, and friends, but above all, his popularity with women multiplies. But who could have guessed how it all really is...
