The future that scares
This picture interested me first of all by the actor who played the main role. Peter Dinklage is quite a charismatic person, he was certainly familiar to me from the TV series "Game of Thrones". Well, I wanted to see him in a different role, especially since, after reading the plot of the picture "To Remember again", I became interested in this film.
I reviewed the film twice. It's really catchy. A twisted plot that cannot be disassembled from the very beginning, but the characters and the director lead forward, simultaneously unwinding a tangled ball of threads. It's been a long time since I've been so drawn into a movie when you're watching, not daring to distract yourself for a second, afraid of missing some important detail for the narrative. And there are quite a few of them here, believe me. The story immerses you in a dark world of intricacies, the dialogues are well spelled out, and the characters are alive, perfectly played by actors. It seems that the narrative does not rush the characters to the finale, but gradually it becomes clear what came from where. The whole tangle of tangled threads is finally untied, drawing a general picture of what is happening in front of the viewer. The complex and at the same time competent interweaving of real events with flashbacks in the finale forced me to sit with my mouth open with a lump in my throat. This film belongs to the category of those that will definitely be remembered for an unexpected denouement.
A separate topic is the music in the work. A kind of mixture of something electronic, but at the same time soulful, the music of the electronic future and at the same time something so close. It is difficult to describe in words the feeling of it, but it really likes, is remembered and is very suitable for the narration on the screen. The soundtrack is written carefully, getting into the right emotions and experiences of the characters. Then the music leads to a kind of calm, and sometimes it is rapidly gaining momentum, following the characters of the film.
Acting is on top. I especially want to highlight the role of Yelchin. It seems that this was his last role, and his character was remembered. Dinklage is also irresistible. His eyes often convey all the emotions that the hero is experiencing at one time or another. It's nice to see such a game.
The film does not have a very high rating, and many of my friends did not appreciate this work at all. Probably, such paintings need their own special viewer who is ready to plunge into this fictional world of intertwining destinies. I managed to see the screenwriter's ideas and the director's vision. And it pleases. The picture was definitely remembered.
For me, this is a great drama with a fantastic component well embedded inside. This movie is not for entertainment, it's not a blockbuster, but such a quiet movie, probably even for home viewing alone, when you can stay one-on-one with this world and completely skip it through yourself, plunging into an amazing adventure.
