Bond really doesn't have enough of the whole world The next Bond film was released at the end of the millennium, in 1999, becoming the third picture for Pierce Brosnan, who successfully embodies the image of a British agent on big screens. A new picture and another challenge for the entire film crew. In addition, the picture should meet the expectations of the audience, especially if it takes such a big name as "The World Is Not Enough" I immediately remember how this phrase was designated as the family motto of the James Bond family back in the movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" with George Lazenby back in 1969. The reference sparkled with new colors. However, there is no longer any connection with the past story. The new picture offers the audience another plot with a lot of intrigues, betrayals and tricky villains, and viewing, as before, will please from a visual point of view. The story itself revolves around the intrigues with the oil pipeline that goes from Azerbaijan through Georgia and Turkey. The next terrorists are going to commit a terrorist attack by blowing it up. Bond will have to figure out the situation and use his usual skills to defeat the villains. The screenwriters, of whom there were several, tried to diversify the adventures of the British spy. And a lot of moves were quite successful. However, there are also clearly recurring episodes, of which I only remembered a couple from past James Bond films. I mean skiing down from snow-capped peaks. Such moves create dissonance when you seem to see a beautiful realization of such a descent from the mountains, but at the same time you mentally go in search of memories in which other films about Agent 007 you saw this. This is necessarily distracting and disrupts the integrity of the overall perception. The creators are again trying not to deviate from the current situation in the world, placing their characters in conflict, which is associated with modern gold — black gold. Oil and gas replaced gold as the main wealth, which, for example, as I remember vividly featured as McGuffin in the 1964 film Goldfinger. Yes. The creators of Bond films have always been great fellows in terms of current problems in the world, which they successfully transferred to film. The characters of this work are really memorable. Sophie Marceau performed above all praise, demonstrating on the screen a strong female character who is ready to compete with an entire powerful organization and its leader, M, performed by Judi Dench. Each appearance of the French actress Marceau in the frame is another victory for the screenwriters and the actress herself, who makes an excellent tandem with Pierce Brosnan. Renard also acted as a colorful character here. He is played by Robert Carlyle. The actor's appearance and charisma make it possible to perfectly convey the image of an antagonist who has acquired a kind of superpower and simply does not feel pain. An interesting approach, but in some moments it looked like an undeniable advantage over the invincible Bond. Denise Richards is undoubtedly good. Her character named Christmas is also introduced into the narrative as a bright assistant to a British intelligence agent. Their tandem is interesting to watch, especially in action scenes. By the way, about the latter — in the film, as before, the visual component is at the highest level for its time. The creators did their best to present the audience with a gorgeous action movie with many fantastic elements that only improve the picture. The music and the title song are also on top. The gorgeous composition "The World Is Not Enough" performed by the bright Shirley Manson and the Garbage band is still on the radar. "The World Is Not Enough" turned out to be a good action movie. The film is ready to show on the screen everything that the Bond audience loved so much. This is a strong movie that is not inferior to previous films in scale and is ready to present a new story for the entertainment of the audience. 8 out of 10
