Sherlock in the comics or a clone of himself The appearance of a new character on the screen from Marvel promised to be hot. It was necessary to take into account that he is played by Benedict Cumberbatch, who has long become famous, and therefore the project attracted even more interest from the audience. In addition, "Doctor Strange" as if by magic appeared in the schedule of the Marvel company's premieres at the moment when it was needed. No. The previous films weren't bad. Just the opposite. But the team of superheroes, their joint adventures and solo projects managed to get a little tired. It was felt that it was necessary to inject fresh blood, an extraordinary plot and a new story in general. And the company had such a move. As it turned out, quite successful. The picture tells about the confrontation of good and evil. However, now this is happening in other dimensions, where different rules, concepts and laws of being apply. Many references to Eastern culture gave the film a certain identity. The role of Cumberbatch was interesting, the actor is beautiful on the screen. He's charismatic, as always. But there is one significant "BUT" for me. Stephen Strange, by chance or not, is quite an egocentric character who considers himself superior to others, pompous and even rude. And very similar is Sherlock Holmes performed by the same Cumberbatch in the famous series. Perhaps the creators wanted to see their Strange exactly like Holmes from Bakerstreet, which the actor shows us, or maybe it's just a coincidence. The matter is different. In my opinion, this detracts from the performance of the actor himself. His image of Strange does not have anything special, as if Benedict plays the same role as in Holmes, only called differently. But he can be a different actor. But not here. The picture in the movie is simply mind-blowing. Especially on the big screen and in 3D. You seem to be sucked into these different worlds that the authors of the project demonstrate. A powerful soundtrack complements this adventure. Amazing ideas of the creators, beautiful implementation — all this brings the Marvel cinematic universe to a new level of colorfulness. The truth still does not leave the feeling that some visual solutions are very similar to those in the movie "The Beginning", but this absolutely does not spoil the film. Today, cinema is replete with many examples of beautiful pictures, but there is an absolutely non-standard flight of thought and imagination of the creators. There are a lot of fundamentally new things that have not been anywhere else. The worlds are colorful and saturated, real and at the same time fantastic. The enemy of the main character was a villain, played by one of my favorite actors Mads Mickelson. However, there was a strange feeling that his character was not revealed. He doesn't even have much dialogue, which does not allow him to reveal the full potential of this wonderful actor. Tilda Swinton is good. Almost emotionless in this movie, but good. Her character is very lively, despite the fact that he is so meager on emotions. She feels knowledge, experience behind her shoulders, power and strength. And she acts like a smart mentor. The film is interesting and beautiful, extraordinary and memorable. It "smells" of novelty, which was very timely served to the audience and Marvel fans. And the audience will definitely appreciate both the new superhero magician and the whole tape. 7 out of 10
