Where does the war lead
"The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" is a memorable title. It is as memorable as the associations with this name after viewing this picture. An extraordinary story, a strong plot, well-played roles. The picture is remembered for its drama for a long time, and I put the film for myself on the list of those that, after watching once, you will not dare to review again, because the vivid emotions of the initial viewing remain forever in your soul. This is a hard emotional movie, but one that is definitely worth watching for all adults if they are ready for a heavy narrative and a memorable story.
This story revolves around two boys who become friends. One of them is Bruno, a young boy and the son of a high—ranking Nazi. The other is Shmuel, a prisoner in a camp where people are killed in a gas chamber. But young children are not yet ready to understand the "games" that adults play, they do not make these terrible divisions into humans and inhumans, into true Aryans and everyone else who did not deserve to live. Children remain children, for them there is no difference in origin or skin color. They have not yet been imposed on these worthless concepts, which were the basis of the Nazi regime in Germany.
And I, as a spectator, understood perfectly well how complicated our world is. History clearly demonstrates this when children of different origins, who are essentially no different from each other, can find themselves on different sides of a barbed wire. And even that damn wire won't stop them from becoming friends. Adults should learn from these children, look at reality in a different way, so that there would not be that terrible war and ideology that destroyed tens of millions of lives. But that's not possible. After all, this is an adult world. Children do not have access to it. As with adults, to the children's world.
The acting is good, the direction is excellent, the story is memorable. The film definitely makes you think about who we are. Who are people to each other at all? How is it that, as adults, having learned something from their life teachers, people harbor so much hatred for others? After all, if you just look at the two guys, you can see that everything is much simpler and there is nothing like any good reason to kill other people. This is worth remembering at all times. Man is a brother to man, and precedent-setting people lead to tragedies that litter our planet.
The film is an instructive story, an excellent picture from all points of view. This movie remains in my memory for decades, I'm even sure that forever. The picture will once again allow you to understand how dangerous combinations of circumstances can sometimes be, and the utopian ideology of killing other people is a real crime that has no statute of limitations.
