Because of all the hub-bub around this book, I was expecting more. Just didn't do it for me.

Watched the Series which led me to the book. I think I liked the book Carl better then the show Carl, but that's usually because I can actually read the inner dialogue instead of guess at the inner dialogue.

There are so many plot holes. I think they left some important clues on the cutting room floor.

There haven't been that may books that I have read that I haven't liked on some level. This book isn't one of those. I was thinking of bringing this one in on The Battle of the Books. It was really enjoyable and written to hold the interest of tweens. Not to long and a fairly simple read. I also enjoyed Vivian Vande Velde's book Heir Apparent. I will probably read more by this author.

Needless to say, it didn't take all that long for Haina to surrender. Not a bad book, pretty much straight forward plot. Not a whole lot of suspense. But a good romance and not bad for an escape from the real world.

I really enjoyed this book. The basic idea is in the near future, there is a drug, the street name of Destiny, that is very addictive and deadly to take, but the promise of eternal youth and powers of the mind is a great lure. Some people in this future world, have learned to harness the unused neural pathways in their brain to become Greater-Thans. They have studied and trained to integrate their brains, so they can use these special powers in the battle against jokers, people who have gone insane using Destiny and against the Organization, the people who make the drug. That's were the Obermeyer Institute comes in. They are a facility that trains Potentials to become Greater-Thans. Now that you have a little bit of back history, the main characters are Mac, Sean, EIliot, Steven, and Bach. They each have their own plot line mixed in with the main story of trying to rescue a Potential (Nika) from the Organization. The characters are well fleshed out. I got to care for what happened to each and I believe I got to know them well as individuals. I enjoyed the plot and the progression of the book, it kept me interested, not delving on one subject or person for to long. There was only one issue I had with the book and that was toward the end. Not to put any spoilers in, is hard. The logic of the outcomes of a character who took the drug, didn't feel right to me, and sense it didn't make logical sense to me, it kind of put me off the ending. BUT... I can't wait to see what the next book of the series will bring.

I quite enjoyed this book - a Saxon woman saves a Viking man. It's rich in plot and not so much of the sloppy angst that most romance novels have. It has it, it's just not on every page and fits the story line rather well. There's to much going on, to overly worry about every little feeling and doubt the characters have.

Willow is a very strong willed individual, who seems to me has very low self-esteem. She has a gift but instead of embracing that gift, she wills herself to be normal. As her gifts mature she is finding it harder and harder to deny them. I had a hard time liking this character. Ben Fortune, Willow's soul-mate, embraces his psychic self and returns to New Orleans when he finds out Willow may be in trouble. He will not let Willow get rid of him "this time". He's in for the long haul. Enter the Embrans, a race of demon like creatures that live underground. They are dying out, I think because of their interaction with the human species (this was not well outlined). They want Willow because they believe she can help cure their species. It's an interesting story line, a bit garbled and hard to follow, but I did finish it. I had the "bad guys" figured out before the climax and that irked me, I like a story to keep me guessing until the end. All in all a good read but not one were you can put your mind on the back burner and just read.

What would you do to have your fantasy come true? The Rogue Pirate come to kidnap you, the downed pilot filling your bed, the stable hand with the body that just won't quit, all rolled up into one. Every women's fantasy. Elizabeth's husband was killed in a car accident and her imagination has run away with her. Will she know when it time to put away the fantasy for the real thing? A quick easy read. The only thing wrong . . . I wish the book was just a little longer. Hated to reach the end of the story.

Took me awhile to get into this story. Not all that shabby after I finally got into it.
